2014 BMW 5 series face-lift revealed

BMW has added a new entry level model to the 5-series range and a few other changes to the best-selling 5-Series ever.

Launching in the UK in September, the face-lifted 5-series features re-styled headlights, bumpers, tail light graphics and an all new range of alloy wheels.

The biggest changes lie at the front of the car, underneath the bonnet. There is an all new model which has been added to line-up, the 518d. It receives the same 2.0 litre engine seen in the 520d however it has been de-tuned to produce 141bhp and 266lb ft. of torque. The 518d reached 62 mph in 9.6 seconds and manages very economical 62.8mpg and Co2 emissions of 119g/km.

The 520d has also had its engine tweaked, with the emissions and fuel economy matching the new 518d. The rest of the 5-series range have also had their engines tweaked to meet Euro6 emissions…
